Before you train

Class waiver.

Please read this before you book. Ticking the box on the booker — and completing a booking — means you have read it and agree.

This covers adult small-group strength classes with Michelle O'Connor Fitness, including Tuesday evenings at Balla Community Centre, Mayo. It does not cover Strong Girls Club, which is a children's programme with its own arrangements.

Training involves risk

Strength classes use weights, kettlebells, bands, bodyweight, floor work, and moving around a circuit. You may feel sore afterwards. Injury can still happen even when the session is coached carefully.

You take part knowing that, and you accept responsibility for your own decisions in class.

This is not medical advice

I am a qualified, insured personal trainer — not a doctor or physiotherapist. Class is not a diagnosis, treatment, or medical service.

If you have a health condition, are pregnant or postnatal, are recovering from surgery or injury, take medication that affects exercise, or you are simply unsure, speak to your GP or physio first. Tell me what I need to know so I can adapt the work.

Be honest about how you are

Do not train if you have a contagious illness, or if you feel faint, dizzy, or unusually unwell. If something changes between booking and class — a new injury, pregnancy, illness — tell me before we start.

Use the notes on the booker, reply to your booking email, or say it in person.

Train at your own level

I coach throughout and can change exercises. You still choose the load and effort that is right for you. Stop if something feels wrong — sharp pain, chest pain, dizziness, unusual shortness of breath — and tell me straight away.

Do not copy someone else's weights. Look after the people training near you, and put equipment down with care.

These classes are for adults

Tuesday small-group strength is for people aged 18 and over. Do not book a child onto these classes. If you book for someone else, they must also be 18 or over and have read and agreed to this page.

The venue

Classes run in Balla Community Centre. I do not own or manage the building. Take care on floors, with kit, and around other people. Follow any house rules of the centre.

Photos

I sometimes take photos or short clips of class for Instagram and the website. The training is the point, not a posed portrait. If you would rather not appear, tell me in the booking notes or in person and I will keep you out of them.

Each booking is a fresh agreement

Ticking the box when you book means you have read this page and still agree. If your health changes, tell me before the next class.

This is a standard class participation note for adult fitness sessions in Ireland. It is not legal advice, and it does not ask you to give up rights Irish law does not let you give up.
